Educational STEM projects are an example of the support from the Caterpillar Foundation in 2024.

In 2024, the Caterpillar Foundation drove impact in three main ways:

  1. Dedication of Caterpillar employees: Caterpillar employees dedicated more than 110,000 hours of volunteer service in 2024 to strengthen communities in ways that can’t be measured in dollars alone. Through employee gift and volunteer match programs, the Caterpillar Foundation directed more than $13.9 million to thousands of local organizations, amplifying the power of individual giving. Additionally, the 2024 Caterpillar Employee United Way Appeal resulted in Caterpillar employees and Caterpillar Foundation together pledging a record-breaking $15.2 million to United Way chapters across the U.S., Mexico, Canada, and Panama, a testament to the deep-rooted culture of giving at Caterpillar.
  2. Strategic partnerships across the globe: The Caterpillar Foundation collaborates with organizations worldwide to expand opportunities in and strengthen workforce development and sustainable infrastructure. In 2024, these programs helped 85,000 individuals gain industry-recognized credentials for high-demand industries and reached 171,000 individuals through hands-on learning experiences designed to prepare the next generation of innovators. Additionally, the Caterpillar Foundation worked with organizations focused on enhancing access to clean water, contributing to the installation of 276 water systems that will help improve health and economic stability in communities around the world.
  3. Disaster response and activation: Throughout 2024, Caterpillar Foundation responded to a multitude of urgent crises from hurricanes and wildfires to humanitarian crises that displaced families and upended lives. In total, Caterpillar Foundation directed $2.5 million to disaster relief funding, swiftly deploying aid for recovery efforts. As a supporter of the American Red Cross Annual Disaster Giving Program, the Foundation played a role in providing emergency shelter, medical care, and supplies to those in need. In the aftermath of disasters, these funds helped rebuild homes, restore infrastructure, and support economic recovery, ensuring that affected communities could regain stability and resilience in the face of future crises.

From educational resources to essential infrastructure, the Caterpillar Foundation, Caterpillar employees and retirees helped to see that individuals across the globe received the resources they needed to succeed, and communities gained tools to build a more resilient future. So much good has been done. And there’s so much more impact we will make in the year to come. As Caterpillar celebrates 100 years in 2025, Caterpillar Foundation is proud of its legacy of giving and is ready to shape the next 100 years.
