Caterpillar's presence in the Middle East dates as far back as 1929. But it wasn't until 2012, with the significant amount of exponential growth, development and expansion in the region, that Caterpillar inaugurated its first full parts distribution facility in Dubai – the Middle East Distribution Center (MEDC). This presence allowed Caterpillar to better serve its dealers, customers and the region's growing market.
Today, our presence in the U.A.E. is broad. It includes factory and corporate employees – with a Middle East and Eastern Africa District office located in the same area of Dubai as the MEDC, inside the Jebel Ali Free Zone. The branch covers various business areas, including marketing and sales, parts distribution, and services. In 2016, a learning center opened to strengthen our dealerships’ workforce capabilities in customer service, engineering, electric power systems and more.
